Pianoro is located along the Futa road, a communication route between Bologna and Florence, and is characterized by the presence of the Parco dei Gessi Bolognesi e Calanchi dell’Abbadessa, known for its spectacular gypsum outcrops, and the ancient village of Livergnano, consisting of a series of houses set deeply into the rock, of which only the facades protrude.
